It is the eighth year since the web portal of the department (www.jkanimalhusbandry.net) was launched and we have seen a remarkable change in the way that people perceive the internet and the potential benefits it offers. Our website too has grown and now it offers information about almost all aspects of the Department, be it healthcare, entrepreneurship or administration. In addition we get a huge number of queries on email about the working/services of the department. We are also about to launch an online helpdesk for entrepreneurs to seek all kinds of information.

In this context it is only proper that core facilities offered by the portal are shared with the departmental workforce too. E-Mail is one such core service which offers not only instant communication but personalization too. The Directorate is happy to announce that it has decided to provide email accounts to the department’s employees ([email protected]) and in the first instance the facility would be available to the gazetted cadre only. It is hoped that our officers will make good use of the service in the interest of the Department and larger public good.
