Two-day orientation program for newly appointed VAS’s concludes at Animal Husbandry Kashmir. Participants express gratitude to Principal Secretary Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon

A two days' orientation cum training program for newly appointed Veterinary Assistant Surgeons was held on 29th & 30th of July 2019 in the meeting hall of Directorate of Animal Husbandry Kashmir. The doctors appointed as a result of creation of 400 posts of VAS in the department after a gap of more than 30 years, expressed their gratitude to Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon Principal Secretary to Government Animal/Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and Transport for effecting the creations after such a long time.
The training program was aimed at apprising the new doctors regarding the full spectrum of activities carried out by the department. Dr. Anjum Andrabi Incharge IEC Kashmir gave an introduction and general overview of the department apart from providing information on various state and central schemes. Drs. Khursheed Shah, DIO Srinagar, Gowhar Nabi Gora, Technical Officer, Azher Bashir Banday VAS, Idrees Mir VAS, Faazil Bashir Technical Officer gave presentation on Cattle and Poultry Development Programs, Disease control Programs, Introduction to acts and rules, Importance of record keeping & hands-on training on maintenance of records. Mr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, Head Assistant Establishment provided an overview on Civil service regulations, conducts and Leave rules for the doctors. The training program was conducted to make the new recruits aware about their duties and responsibilities.
The program concluded with a Questionnaire & Feedback session with the trainees where feedback was obtained on the quality of training and other queries of trainees were answered. The organizing body and participants thanked
